Etsy stuff!

Currently there is free shipping at my Etsy store!!!

In case you are looking for Christmas gifts, check out my Etsy at www.slimmotif.etsy.com. If you are looking for some jewelry, check out my sister's Etsy at www.slimedge.etsy.com.

Also, I want to know what crocheted items you would buy (you don't actually have to purchase it from me, but I'm interested to know what you might be willing to purchase). I'm currently working on some Christmas stockings, but I don't know if anyone would be interested in them... let me know!

Here are some of the items on my Etsy. Also you can look to the right of the blog for other crocheted items in the store.

Four Teethers!

I feel so bad for Sydney right now. She is getting four teeth in at the same time. One molar, two canines, and a lateral incisor. She's been really cranky lately, and I'm sure it's all due to these teeth. She sure is getting a mouth full of teeth though!

Sydney is finally putting some weight and height on her. She now weighs 21 lbs 7 oz, which puts her in the 30th percentile and as for height she's now 31 1/2 inches long which puts her in the 80th percentile!! She just shot up I guess! I think her last check up she was only in the 20th percentile for height. I'm glad she's growing now!

Now we just have to get her to crawl...

New Pics and Update

Nothing new has happened with us. It's been pretty uneventful at our house. Jake only has about a month left of classes and then he has finals. Finals for him are two weeks long and they determine his grade for his classes, so lets hope he does well on them!! Most of the leaves on the trees are gone now, but during the month of October and especially before we had snow that one weekend, the trees were so gorgeous! There are trees EVERYWHERE here, and when they change colors, it's so pretty! So I've got a few pictures of the trees:

Sydney has been trying to sit up on her own. She's getting really close to doing it, but still doesn't get that she needs to roll on her side and then push herself up, so instead she tries to do a sit up. I guess she'll get really strong abs though! One day I was changing her diaper and she kept trying to sit up on her own, so I gave her a little help and she looked so cute on her changing pad that I had to take a picture of her!

For Halloween Sydney was a Penn State cheerleader. She didn't go out trick-or-treating and we didn't get any trick-or-treaters at our house, which was a bummer since we bought a lot of candy. Oh well. We did go out to the store earlier that day while Sydney was dressed up so at least a few people got to see her little outfit.

Sydney falls asleep almost anywhere and a lot of times she falls asleep in the weirdest positions. This last week she decided to take a nap on the couch:

Gym Memberships

When we moved here we kind of started running. Jake did a better job than I did, and he went a few times without me, but I HATE running so much. It's horrible torture to me.

Either we were going to buy Jake a membership on campus for $100 for two semesters or we could try to find a cheap gym in town so the both of us could go together. We were able to find one here in town, it's $10 a month! Which wound up to be the best deal I could find it town. There was a $49 processing fee for both of us which sucked, but that's not a bad deal. They also have a day care so you can bring in your kid while you work out, that's another $25 a month, so even accounting for all of these additional fees, it's still the cheapest in town. I'm just glad I have access to an elliptical again! BYU ellipticals sucked plus they only had about 8 total, so this is definitely an upgrade. We've been going for a week and a half so far, but we're both looking forward to being in better shape!

Jake's Birthday!

Today is Jake's birthday, happy birthday! He's the best husband ever! He's also so helpful around the house, he cleans, does dishes, laundry, and he cooks dinner every now and then (and no, it's not mac 'n cheese, he does nice fancy stuff!). He's very patient with me, thank goodness, and I love him so much! He's so wonderful with Sydney and it's so cute to see him interact with her. I couldn't ask for a better husband or father of my child! I LOVE YOU!

There's my sexy man ;)

Slim Edge Jewelry

My sister made an etsy site. She makes jewelry and it's really nice jewelry. I love all of the necklaces and earings that she's made for me. Her prices are really affordable. If you or anyone you know likes homemade jewelry, let them know of her site! Here's her website:

Calling, talk, lesson... busy

Last Saturday the bishop called us into his office and he gave me a calling. Jake is still a free man in the ward, I, however, will have my hands full, for at least a little while. In our old ward I was a Visiting Teaching Leader. Needless to say, I didn't have to do much besides remind my supervisors to collect their reports and then to collect their reports at the end of the month. My calling in this ward is Mia Maids Advisor! Every Sunday I'll be teaching the Mia Maids (except for the combined lessons... do they do those anymore? I don't even know...) and I'll be attending mutual every Tuesday night. I guess this will help occupy some of my time.

So, this next Sunday I will have to prepare a lesson for the Mia Maids as well a giving a talk. Once again, Jake got off free. I'll be the only one from our family to give a talk. But that's okay. Jake was really busy in our last ward, and before we left he gave a talk, and I didn't. Let's hope I don't screw the Mia Maids up in this ward... ;)

Oh crap.... did I just pee my pants?

For those of you who know me, I am so scared of spiders. I freak out when I see them, and I just did that since I just saw the biggest spider that has ever been in my house... EVER! Sure, I had a spider this size at camp... in our platform tent... but we're in nature! C'mon!! Not in my freakin house!!!

I guess I should have expected it since there were two of these monsters right outside our back door up in their own separate corners. But still! I didn't think they would step foot in our house. If you ask me, I think this one is out for revenge. A few days ago Jake sprayed the two spiders outside, and I think one of them lived the spray and got in our house and is now going to kill us all. At least back in Provo, I could call a neighbor to come over and kill our spiders while Jake was gone. And it's too bad that today Jake is going to be gone all day pretty much. I'm just hoping it doesn't go any where before Jake gets home. I tried to capture a picture of it, and here it is. I'm pretty sure it's about the size of a quarter - body and legs.

She's finally sitting on her own!

If you couldn't tell from the last post, Sydney is now sitting on her own!! She's been sitting for a while, but she would only do it for about 5-10 minutes and then get angry and fling herself backwards. She would do fantastic on our laps, she would sit up on her own on our laps all the time! For a while I was thinking we would never be able to let her sit on her own without having a pillow or something else behind her.

All of a sudden, the Sunday before this last one, she decided she was going to sit on her own without any support! It was amazing! She has had two or three times since then fallen backwards, but she is so good at sitting now! I'm so proud of her. Once she gets tired of sitting or doesn't want to do it anymore, she'll just cry and won't fling herself backwards. Now we just have to work with her on crawling... I don't know when that will happen.

Penn State & BYU

Both Penn State and BYU won their football games this last weekend! Yay! I thought the Penn State game was pretty good, at least I enjoyed it. As for the BYU game, yes they did win, but I thought it was a little boring. Not enough action for me. Whatever.

A few days before the Penn State game we were in downtown State College looking at different Penn State stores and came across the cutest little cheerleader outfit. I can't say that I want my daughter to be a cheerleader, but it was so darn cute, and the only girl outfit they had with Penn State on it. We put it on her for the football game on Saturday (not like we went anywhere with her wearing it, but that's okay) and decided we should take a few pictures of her wearing it. I thought the pictures turned out really well. Here they are, and a few others just for fun.

Our new pad

I finally took some pictures of our place and some pics of Penn State. State College is very very green and has a ton of trees! The hills here are pretty cool, they're just saturated with green trees. They're definitely not close to being as big as the mountains in Utah, but they're still pretty cool. The rivers here are also pretty neat. Trees go right up to the edge of the water. We'll have to take a picture of it sometime and post it. We're going to try to take more pictures of the scenery around here, but for now, here are the pics we've taken.

Here is a picture of our townhome

There is a playground right outside our place

Here's a picture of the law school that Jake goes to
